OBITUARY: Alice Theodora Handy Thompson died on Friday, March 17, 2000 at her home in rural Clearbrook, Minnesota. She was born at Trail, Minnesota, the youngest daughter of Nels P. and Johanna Handy. She was raised and educated in the Trail area. She married Milton Thompson on December 29, 1935 at Gully, Minn. After their marriage they lived and farmed in Leon Township, Clearwater County. Milton died on December 19, 1982. Alice was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Clearbrook. Alice is survived by: two daughters, Alair (Don) Quickstad of Milaca, Minn., and Ruth (John) Johnson of Blaine, Minn.; one son, Victor (Elizabeth) of Clearbrook; seven grandchildren: Brian (Krista) Johnson of Campbell, California, Steven (Connie) Quickstad of Brussels, Belgium, David (Nicole) Quickstad of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda (John) Walther of Shoreview, Minn., Sandra (Les) Weibye of Andover, Minn., Kristen Thompson of Northfield, Minn., and Karin Thompson of Los Angeles, California; two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services were March 23 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Clearbrook, with Pastor Dan Bowman officiating. Interment was at Seljord Lutheran Cemetery rural Clearbrook.
